Both born in NY and raised in Greenwich, CT Wendy and Bob Hartwell met in Bennington, Vermont where they were both actively involved in the community, Wendy, as a United Way Executive Director, and Bob, working as a real estate attorney and contemplating a run for political office which he did and subsequently served as a State Senator for eight years.
After some years spent on Cape Cod where they had always vacationed, they built a strong real estate team before moving to Winston-Salem which provides an attractive opportunity in a rapidly growing and creative region to which many people are moving from the northern states.
In addition to Wendy’s nonprofit and corporate background she also holds certification in Interior Design, Redesign and Staging, skills she still uses today in real estate. Wendy contracted as a flood and economic recovery specialist with the Economic Development Administration in the U.S. Department of Commerce using her considerable community building skills to promote downtown and small business revitalization. She often speaks on human rights issues, a passion of hers.
Wendy and Bob derive enormous satisfaction from working with people and forming lasting relationships – a key component in a successful real estate business.
This breadth of work, including community and public service has taught the Hartwells the importance of determination, maintaining professionalism and building partnerships. Their community, sales and leadership roles have shown them the importance of acting with enormous respect for their clients. They understand that ongoing communication is key to achieving a client’s goals and realizing theirs.
Wendy and Bob Hartwell understand the stress clients are under during a complicated real estate transaction and are committed to eliminating as much stress as possible by staying actively engaged with them and the many others involved in the sale of a home or new purchase. Wendy and Bob are pleased to be affiliated with Realty One in Winston-Salem.
